As David Casteu explains: "This year, thanks to my sponsors, I've been able to take a significant step in my career and set up my own team structure. For the last few months I've been wearing two hats: rider and team manager, although I'll be taking off the latter in Buenos Aires to focus on my race.

For Dakar 2010, the power of the KTM 690 will still be restricted, which will allow a bunch of 450cc riders to compete on more equal terms. I wanted to look beyond just one Dakar; I am committed to the long term and, thanks to my sponsors, I already have the next two Dakars and Championships guaranteed.

My team consists of three riders, including Mika Pisano who is my "water carrier" and Ludo Boinnard who will ride on my old works KTM.

There will be twelve of us altogether, and everyone has a specific role. I know that I can rely on them entirely since the team is bonded by professionalism and friendship".
